Flow and load surveys may vary from basic studies to characterise flow and load to more complex studies to provide the design data for major capital investment schemes, often incorporating an assessment of the existing plant to assess current asset performance.

Aqua Enviro have extensive experience of carrying out flow and load surveys for both the water companies, contractors, consultants and industrial clients with each study able to be tailored to meet the project aims.  Studies have included:

• Capacity assessments
• WwTW's optimisation, modelling and refurbishment schemes
• Catchment and network surveys
• Industrial effluent

When applicable, additional process monitoring and investigation can be carried out in conjunction with the survey to correlate flow and load to plant performance. This can often highlight low cost solutions such as refurbishing or retrofitting parts of the plant as an alternative to large-scale capital investment.

Examples of additional site work include:

• Chemical dosing – Assessment and optimisation of chemical dosing systems (i.e. ferric, polymer, bicarbonate etc.) through jar testing.
• Biological treatment – microscopy, dissolved oxygen surveys and settlement testing (SSVI’s).
• Sludge handling – Assessment of digester and sludge handling performance.
