The CIWEM approved training courses comprise lectures, workshops and practical laboratory sessionsTwenty six Yorkshire Water Energy Process Technicians (EPTs) from 18 Shining Star Environmental Business Unit (EBU) sites have passed a critical technical training programme delivered by Aqua Enviro with flying colours.  The EPTs received CIWEM accredited training from Aqua Enviro in a whole range of wastewater and sludge treatment disciplines. 

According to EPT Ed Thompson “the training was intensive, but provided a good mix of scientific theory and on-site practice.  Undertaking this training has been a really positive experience and I look forward to applying the learning when working at our Shining Star sites.” 

Aqua Enviro are currently discussing Yorkshire Water’s training needs for 2010 with the HR Advisor for the EBU, Katy Price.  Katy remarked, “ we are delighted with the training service that Aqua Enviro have provided and we are looking forward to continuing and strengthening this relationship.’

Twelve of the 18 Shining Star sites have recently been awarded above average ‘B’ and ‘C’ energy efficiency ratings in a new internal audit system launched in October 2009.  Feedback from the audits has been analysed and action plans put in place to improve energy efficiency.  The EPTs have an important role to play in ensuring that these energy efficiencies are delivered.
